What You Missed Week 2

Hi peeps! How’s 2014 going so far? Mine....lazy! No seriously though, this coming Wednesday everything goes back to normal! Lil Mister begins school again....so although I’ve had a million things that needed done this past week, I’ve just enjoyed the peace of an empty house. Of course the kids and Hubby are there....but it’s nice just being able to melt back into routine.

Speaking of routine....we are working hard to get that started again! I won’t lie...my laziness isn’t helping (neither is LJ’s teething!) but we’ll get there. Next week....it’s all strict again. Clean kitchen at night, lunches made and bags packed before bed! Lil Mister will begin school now and LJ starts his first day of school ever asof the 3rd of February!

I’m a little a lot nervous about LJ beginning school. It seems like such a big step. I’ve already postponed it 2 ½ weeks because I want to let the other kids settle before throwing him to the wolves! LJ’s teacher is amazing and she had Lil Mister in her class last year. I know exactly what to expect from her....patience, understanding, and discipline. She seems to know exactly how to handle the kids. I know LJ will be happy...once he settles.

LJ hasn’t been around kids his age before really. A short glimpse here or there, but otherwise it’s just been Lil Mister. What if it takes him more than a few days to settle? Will he understand that I’m coming back? What if he doesn’t cry and gels right in immediately? What will that mean?

I know I’ve put another child in school before too. And believe me...it was outrageously hard. Lil Mister was only 6 weeks old when he started with the crèche. I really regret never having thought about getting a girl at home to look after him. But we did what we thought was best and I cried for hours. I rushed out of work the moment I could to hold him in my arms again.

Lil Mister has gone through stages where he wasn’t happy at school. He would cry when we dropped him off and run into our arms in the afternoons. Okay....he still does the running in the afternoons! But I know it’s what is best for them. And he has taken to his school so nicely since we started him there last year. I’m positive LJ is going to do just as well.

It’s time for him to go to school. He is getting busier and busier and he is beginning to test the boundaries. He wants to climb and explore everything and doesn’t quite get what it means to share our toys. This causes multiple fights a week between the boys! So, Mama must let him go and spread his wings....in a few more weeks of course!

Allie at Between Dreams tells us 3 things we need to let go of in order to be successful. It is inspiring and encouraging and so uplifting to have read this week!

So, here’s a little insight to what you missed this week!

I skipped my Saturday Funny and Sunday Inspiration this week! GASP! Life just got in the way and I had some things that needed taking care of (mainly having to leave work to deal with a dog that won’t stay in our yard!). It’s back up and running this week....in the meantime check out some oldies!

Monday I shared the first post of the 2014 Blogger Challenge. Gaby asked us to write on inspiration! This was surprisingly easy and simple!

I also shared the first Sunday Social of the year! We all shared stories about resolutions, goals, and aspirations for the 2014 year!

Tuesday I shared Casting Crowns If We’ve Ever Needed You. It is a beautiful song reminding us about the power of our reliance on God.

It was also Lil Misters 3rd birthday! I can’t believe my little boy is growing up so quickly! I wrote a letter to him to always remember these moments!

Wednesday brought us a throwback with some Wordless Wednesday photos from when Lil Mister was a wee baby! He was a chunky lil guy! It was also another Twitter hop! I hope you linked up....otherwise head over there before it’s too late!

Thursday I got serious and wrote a letter to the guy who stole Lil Misters bike. Yes, peeps, crime had finally landed on our doorstep...but it hasn’t slowed our roll!

Keep an eye on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook as I promise to keep up next week with all that is going on!

Please stick around the weekend for another Saturday Funny and Sunday Inspiration! And as always I love to hear from you! Have you stopped by the Prayer Power page lately? We’ve got some amazing stories in the power of God!

  1. Routine ... don't I wish. I miss mine so bad and I can't wait to get back into one again! I'm glad you have been able to be lazy. We don't get to do that that often as parents! LOL
    Have a great weekend :)
