Calling all college students....calling all college students

Disclaimer: This is a sponsored post. However, all opinions related in this post are of my own. As always, I continue my strive to bring you only content that is relative and relatable to family life and Christian values.

So, right now I want to reach out to all the college students out there! You spend hundreds of dollars a year on books. A great program CampusBookRentals.com can help you save money!!!

We all know the cost of books each semester can really drain a student! Whether you're studying full time or doing a few classes at night while working during the day....a penny saved is well...a penny saved! CampusBookRentals.com does just that! By using them you can save anywhere from 40%-90% off the bookshelf price!

Sunday Social....a Little Bit of Random

1. Favorite breakfast food
I have to say honestly, if I could envision the perfect breakfast right now...it would start with me not being the one cooking! ;-) It would include scrambled eggs with onion, mix peppers, mushrooms, and feta! Some bacon, grits, and French toast with blueberries and cream cheese! Hehe.......

A Busy Mom's Budget

A Busy Mom’s Budget Plan

”budget,
As moms (or dads for that matter) life is hectic enough as it is. Between houses that need cleaned (kids as well), meals that need made, studies that need completed, and littles that need to play (Let’s not even mention working in between) we often think about things such as a budget and sigh wondering....now where do they expect me to fit this in now!

But today, I want to talk to you a little about preparing a budget....quick and easy! I’m serious peeps! It doesn’t need to be something we hide under our beds from. It really can become a simple habit!

Weekend Recap: Rugby Time

Hey peeps! How was your weekend??

Ours was restful for a change! Genuinely.....we truly liked not having a whole lot to do! Normally, weekends are spent going here or there or meeting with these people and those friends and well, I felt completely renewed just having some family time....and a little rugby action! ;-)

I know Friday was Valentines Day but we spent it as a family! It was wonderful and complete with Friday night family bed in the lounge....I think we were all asleep before 9pm! ;-)
Sorry for the bad cell phone quality....but the boys were just so cute here!

Getting Back to Basics: Cutting our budget further

In my last Getting Back to Basics post, I talked about cutting the necessary items out of your budget! Well, more specifically....your groceries. I want to quickly cap up on this before moving on!

In addition to bringing down our groceries, we had to truly look elsewhere too! Firstly, petrol (gas) was an issue. When we received our car, we already knew it was going to be tight on petrol. How were we going to fit this in? We knew quickly that joy riding wasn’t going to work!

Wordless Wednesday: Dr Pepper

My Wordless Wednesday just got....wordy!

If you aren't following me on Instagram....You really should peeps! Ma found this loveliness at a shop where she lives! On the list of things I miss from America (which I actually forgot to list Dr Pepper *gasp*), Dr Pepper can be officially removed! I plan to by a case every time we go to visit....that way it's always on stock when I'm craving it! I've waited nearly 5 years since I last tasted this....I truly thought I'd only get it again once I visited home! Ma listens so well to me! It actually made me a little teary knowing she knew when she saw this that I would completely freak out!

7 Prayers for Your Husband

I told yall that we were going to be spending some time in February focusing on Loveand Marriage! And I don’t mean to let you down!

Today, I want to focus on a huge aspect of our marriages. Probably one of the most important things you can do for your marriage! Last week, we discussed the Purpose of Marriage. God is our purpose....He is the focus and the glue that holds our marriages together!

So, probably the most essential thing you can do for your marriage is...Pray! Specifically, today I want to focus on praying for your husband!

I believe in seven as a holy number! I believe in using the power of that number! So....I am giving you 7 prayers!

Getting Back to Basics

It’s no secret that financially, Hubby and I are not....in the top brackets if you know what I mean! We are blessed, don’t misunderstand me! We were blessed with our house and are blessed with a car! So, one would think that we’d be more...well off. However, it still requires demands two incomes to keep our home stabilized. I say demands because even if we were to consider taking the kids out of crèche so I could stay home....we wouldn’t be able to make it! Yes, school fees cost us a good portion of our income, but when it all adds up....I earn enough over what we pay out for school that we would be in a worse position having the kids at home with me! Does this make sense?

Besides....it’s just not fair to them! Lil Mister LOVES school! He craves the interaction with the friends and we can truly see he is learning! It amazes me constantly how much our school puts into developing him emotionally, mentally, physically, socially, AND spiritually! Yes, spiritually!

Again, we are blessed; I know there are families that struggle much more than our own. And some of the reason we have or do struggle is of our own choices. That is reality and we are more than willing to ‘smell the coffee’ per say.

Wordless Wednesday: First Day of School

It was LJ's first time at school on Monday....he definitely wasn't sure what was happening but the teachers say he enjoyed it! Tuesday was more difficult as he realized what was going to happen and started crying as soon as we left! :-/ But I know he is ready for this now....so we're going for it!

Once Upon A Time with Jane Austen

It is of no secret that I absolutely adore Kiera Knightley. Let us not even begin to discuss how many times I've seen Pirates of the Caribbean.

So obviously, when I saw Pride and Prejudice had her name on it....I had to watch it! And I truly hate to admit it, but I saw the movie first (*gasp*). I know, I know....reader fail!

Purpose of Marriage

I brought to your attention over the weekend that I’m going to be focusing on February as a Love Month! Okay, I get that this seems cliché, but I want to go deeper!

I want to get into true love....not the lust that society has convinced us is love. I want to talk about the details of marriage, the purpose of marriage, the pitfalls, the ups, even....the bedroom! ;-)

What is great about this is I think all of us can join in this month! If you’re single, that is totally okay...hopefully, you get some new insight and become comfortable and secure in your status right now! You can learn what marriage means and get an idea of how to start a relationship off right....for success!

Sunday Social and a Weekend Update

Hey, peeps! How was your weekend?? Mine was....eventful! ;-)

Friday, if you'd checked on Instagram, I cut work a little early and headed to the school for a poppetee. You can read about last years'. But it is basically, an afternoon tea held every year for the mommies at the creche. We had a couple of hours of laughs, chit chat and lekker food! It was a great way to start the weekend!

Saturday Funny: Marriage

To begin our Love Month, I thought we'd relax and take a look at the funny side of marriage!

February Love Month Introduction

Valentines Day walks a fine line in my heart and in my mind. There is a cynical side of me that says why must we have a specific day where we celebrate love? Is it not condescending to a relationship to do something on a specific day because we feel we have to?

Then again when these questions start popping up, I start to wonder then is it not hypocritical to celebrate anniversaries? It’s kind of the same concept! Doing things that “show” love simply because it is a day to remember....that sounds familiar. I also then start to say well, if I can’t show love on a specific day because it is condescending....is it not the same to celebrate Easter? Should I not be living out every day celebrating Christ’s resurrection just as I should be living out every day showing my love?
