New House Pinspiration: A Step on the Wild Side

As you all know...we are moving the weekend! Yay! I am so excited. One thing Hubby and I have been discussing is how we really need to start getting a sense of style into our home. With the kids being so little, we have invested very little time or money into decorating. Now they are getting older and we feel we can begin!

This new home requires a completely different style than what we have like previously. It is a grass roof house and therefore we want to maintain the sense of natural essence of the home. It blends with the nature around it and we want to incorporate that within.

I’ve been gaining a lot of inspiration from nature itself and from the lodges that are around these parts. We are going to stick with neutral colors in the lounge/ dining area with a pop of color here and there. Have a peek at my inspiration....

5 Tips to Successful Packing

Most of us have experienced a major move at some point or another in our lives. I’ve somewhat been sparred over the years. Yes, I moved to South Africa....with thre
e suitcases; everything else was left behind. And then our family moved from KZN to Limpopo, but as “kids” in the house, our parents handled that one. This is my first MAJOR move as an adult...and with kids!

Along the way, I listened to others give advice. I remembered mistakes from our previous moves (both to a new province and across town). And I had a general idea of what was in my own house! So, I want to share my Top 5 Packing to Move tips!

Is Change Negative

Change is not negative

acumen.org
Have you ever looked back to your high school year books? Statistics show that one of the most commonly written phrases in a year book is “don’t ever change.” I want you to take a moment to consider that phrase. Consider the implications of what it would mean if we never changed from our high school selves. Consider even further if we continued to be the exact same person throughout our lives.

I’m not sure about you, but personally I’m thankful I didn’t take this piece of written nostalgia to heart over the years. In fact, I’m quite sure the world is better for this having been thrown to the wind. Even more so, I’m positive God does if truth be told encourage change.

Times of Seperation

I have been stressing a lot about this time in which Hubby will be separated from us. I know I shouldn’t stress....so it has brought me to my knees in prayer. God has settled in my heart that this time of waiting is important for us. There is work to be done in our marriage, family, and home. I don’t just mean the packing and putting in notices and all of that! I mean, God’s work, spiritual work, within our souls.

However, God created me as a planner...so that is what I have been doing! It is what I turn to when I feel bombarded with too much to do’s. It has taken me these couple of weeks to allow my mind to sift through the clumps of everything that has been setting their seeds down, but I think I have finally got...a list! Hehe...lists make me happy!

Wordless Wednesday: Remembering

It's not very wordless....again :-/
The night I met Hubby!
It is amazing looking back on these photos and how life changes and evolves. I can really say that night almost 6 years ago (in August this year), I never imagined I would meet the man I was going to marry. And looking back towards that first weekend in South Africa, I would never have guessed how far our lives would carry us. Everything seemed so HUGE

Tuesday Tunes: Dive

I am absolutely loving this song because it feels like my life exactly right now! Hubby leaves tomorrow morning for our new town. It is with a mix of emotions and a heavy heart that I watch him go! I am trying so hard to be strong but in the mix of packing, looking for work and sick children...I feel like I'm sinking. But God said to dive......
