Happy Anniversary!

Today....today Hubby and I have technically been married for 5 years! I say technically because if you’ll remember in last year’s post, I revealed our big secret about having been married a little under a month before our wedding! 5 years do not come without their ups and downs. A perfect marriage does not exist in the sense that everything is unicorns and rainbows 100% of the time. In a real marriage, you disagree at points, you fail each other and yourself at points, and you are soared above cloud 9 at points. What makes an okay marriage become great is how you handle each of these situations.

I’m not here to make you think we’ve got it perfect, but to tell you there is a handbook that does have it all printed out!

Times of Seperation

I have been stressing a lot about this time in which Hubby will be separated from us. I know I shouldn’t stress....so it has brought me to my knees in prayer. God has settled in my heart that this time of waiting is important for us. There is work to be done in our marriage, family, and home. I don’t just mean the packing and putting in notices and all of that! I mean, God’s work, spiritual work, within our souls.

However, God created me as a planner...so that is what I have been doing! It is what I turn to when I feel bombarded with too much to do’s. It has taken me these couple of weeks to allow my mind to sift through the clumps of everything that has been setting their seeds down, but I think I have finally got...a list! Hehe...lists make me happy!

Saturday Funny- Long Distance Relationships

Okay, Hubby and I aren't really in a long distance relationship. He is coming home most weekends...but for us it feels like forever! We've haven't really spent time apart....so this is lightening my heart a bit!

Off Balance

Something feels off today. I am not sure what it is or why...I just feel unbalanced. Like the world is sitting slightly farther right than it should and I’m walking a little different. I feel it inside my gut....that pit in my stomach.

You could say that when my mornings start tested then my whole day is lopsided. It is like that little change just wiggles it’s fingers into my entire day. You know, Lil Mister is exactly the same! We always know that if he wakes up “on the wrong side of the bed” then it will be a difficult day. Typically, he will be kwaai (hmm....like grumpy) the morning. Everything is an issue and then we know...take a deep breath and move forward with him. We will tell his teacher K as well that it is “one of those” mornings and she understands. We will find that he had a rough day with the potty and normally wasn’t so cooperative with the friends that day. One way we are similar I guess. (Not the potty thing...I’m okay there!)

Letting Go of the Fear

Recently, I spoke about a promotion Hubby might be able to get. He currently works in the spares industry; meaning he sells car parts!

Truthfully, I am so super proud of him! He has worked extremely hard this last year to prove himself within the company, to build up his clientele, and truly get to know the business. And I know it hasn’t been easy at times!

Late last year, we started noticing a shift in how things were happening. Simply, from what he was telling me the manager and area manager said and the extra duties he was doing...I could see that they were impressed with him. Then he got asked early this year to go assist another store in a stock take. For these stores, stock take is a weekend long job and takes multiple people.

It was a huge boost for Hubby. It meant a lot to be requested for something like this. So when the position for a manager at this other branch came available, I started praying about it.

2014 Blogger Challenge: Inspiration

 AnotherGirlyBlg

I’m a day late this time to the party and I’m so sorry! The holidays have been hectic with family coming and going over the last month. Add to that a vacation, a baby shower, two birthdays and New Years Eve...well, let’s just say as much fun as it was...I’m glad the last two months is over!

Life is beginning to go back to normal and so will the flow of this blog...I promise (I hope)!

Gaby over at Another Girl Blog proposed a 2014 BloggerChallenge. Normally, I avoid these types of things. I tried it once and I just got exhausted always trying to follow up with the memes. But this one seemeddifferent. It was a chance to stretch my content, expand my community and still stay real to who I am.

Day 21: Nov 21, 2013
It's quite simple actually....I'm thankful for all the beautiful memories that have been afforded to me in this lifetime! I am blessed just for having had the life that I've lived! I pray that I may always live it to it's fullest and glorify God with it! I only get this once!

30 Days of Gratitude: Intro and catch up!

thehappinesscoach.biz

We don't celebrate Thanksgiving in South Africa. It's strictly an American holiday so this makes sense. But as my boys get older, I've started collecting crafts, lessons, and elements to assist me in sharing this holiday with them.

Although we live here, I feel it is still important that they understand where I came from as it is part of their heritage. Hubby and I are doing our best to mix our cultures to an extent without actually taking away from either.

In light of this, I was so excited when Kelsey mentioned creating a linky for the 30 Days of Gratitude! So keep your eyes out for that still to come!
