4 Tips to Fail at Potty Training

Lil Mister waited so long in the bathroom to potty he
climbed off and fell asleep!
All mothers will admit at some point that their children are the best thing that ever happened. Don't get me wrong I agree fully! No matter how bad my day is they can always manage to turn it around with a simple hug or kiss! However, there have been some downs (way, way downs) that were so bitter, they made the sweet almost break my heart! You know we've all been there!

Parenting is a roller coaster for sure! Some days I can't imagine bed time will ever come and other days I'm trying to find excuses why I can break my own rules and keep them up! However, one of the greatest things (and hardest things) about parenting is how much they have to teach us! It is unbelievable how much I truly learn from my kids!

Am I Teaching My Kids To Be Rude

One day a few months back, Lil Mister was visiting with Ouma. It has taken me a few trips to get used to this but over the last 8 months (since he spent his first overnight with Ouma), I have adjusted and learnt how special this time is for them.

After this particular visit, Ma came along to bring Lil Mister back. We were sitting outside enjoying coffee when she shared what was to me quite an amusing story!

Where Ma stays she has a friend whom she had taken Lil Mister to have coffee with. While there the friend kept, well for Lil Mister, pestering him. To the friend, she was simply being a Tannie. She had offered him cool drink and sweeties and asked him if he wanted to play this or watch that. Lil Mister sat however with a scowled expression on his face, saying no thank you, crossing his arms and shaking his head.

To the Cashier Who Called My Child Naughty

fisops.wayne.edu
I’ve wanted to get this out here for a while, but kept putting it off. Maybe I don’t want to risk sounding like an asshole (excuse the language on my normally “family friendly” blog today) or possibly parenting has pushed me into a more passive-aggressive mode. Whatever the case may be, I need to get this of my chest.

What happened in society that we have decided to allow ourselves as adults the liberty to say anything, to anyone, at any time? Do not misinterpret me as I do feel there is a place and time when honesty needs to be addressed. However, at what point did parents stop teaching children to be respectful? When did the phrase “if you have noth
ing nice to say, don’t say anything” become a thing of the past?

What Makes Women Feel Beautiful

jcsbargainhaven.com
What makes women feel beautiful? It’s been a question longed asked. Beauty is judged by so many and sometimes very harshly. But in reality, if we break it down to real women in everyday life, I think we’d find some varied and surprising answers.

Have any of you noticed the trend of Facebook lately? The one where women are tagging each other and challenging them to post 5 pictures that make them feel beautiful. I asked myself why is this labelled a “challenge.” I wondered why we, as women, would feel tested to find 5 photos claiming beauty.

A+ Mommy

The Radical Housewife
I think I’m beating a dead horse here as the saying goes. We’ve all heard the stories. We’ve read the articles and most of us all of us have been victim of a comment at one point or another. Mommy wars are real. And they’re nasty!

I’m an A+ mom! Not to toot my horn or anything but you know, I’ve got it all figured out. Said no mom truthfully…ever. One thing that really grinds my gears is when we start dishing out advice as if it’s the written truth of parenting. It’s been said a thousand times but no two children are the same, sorry, not even identical twins! Every child will have differences somewhere down the line and the same goes for families. I can’t imagine what goes through a person’s head when they begin telling you the “right” and “wrong” ways to go about things.
