Hey, peeps! It's been a hectic weekend! I'm not even going to start by recapping it right now! Let me just say...7 days away from home and WHOA...it's a crazy nest in there!

Pinterest is addictive. I mean seriously, peeps, I'm addicted! I don't think if I stopped pinning now I'd ever accomplish everything I've pinned! But that doesn't stop me....or about a bagillion others of us! It is so great to get your juices flowing.

I'm not one of those pinners that feel incomplete or unsuccessful when pinning. I love getting new ideas, mixing recipes, and sharing my posts! Today, I thought I'd bring you some of my favorite pins lately!

With July being marriage month on the blog, I thought we'd listen to some love songs today! I know they can be cheesy sometimes but no matter what mood I'm in if I start listening I'll find myself dreaming of reasons why I love Hubby! daydream today that you're singing these with your spouse. Daydream that your holding their hand. Go sing to them! Hold their hand! ;-)

Marriage can be a sticky situation some days. Humans are not concrete people. We are fluid. We move with the waters of life. Our marriages are no different. There are highs and lows and each day brings about a new familiarity.  

I love this quote “You are not human beings having a spiritual experience; we are spiritual beings having a human experience.”

In essence, we are ruled by emotions (even the men shaking their heads…yes you too!). We often react before asking questions, we judge before knowing facts and we assume way too much. I can honestly say all of these happen within my marriage.

5 Tips to Planning a Wedding

            Hey peeps! I want to take a moment today to say Happy Anniversary to my beloved Hubby! I can’t believe that we are at 5 years already! It is truly amazing! You’ll remember last month I wrote about our technical anniversary. But today is the date we really celebrate. And who could argue with us when you look at the photos!

Everyone who has been married will understand when I say a wedding is stressful. I mean the planning and execution alone is a nightmare sometimes; then you have the relatives fighting about seating and who to invite and not invite. Luckily, Hubby and I have always kind of gone our own way about things and our wedding was no different.

Happy Anniversary!

Today....today Hubby and I have technically been married for 5 years! I say technically because if you’ll remember in last year’s post, I revealed our big secret about having been married a little under a month before our wedding! 5 years do not come without their ups and downs. A perfect marriage does not exist in the sense that everything is unicorns and rainbows 100% of the time. In a real marriage, you disagree at points, you fail each other and yourself at points, and you are soared above cloud 9 at points. What makes an okay marriage become great is how you handle each of these situations.

 

I’m not here to make you think we’ve got it perfect, but to tell you there is a handbook that does have it all printed out!

Weekend Update and Prayer Request

Hi peeps! So our long weekend is over! I spoke last week about how I really needed to use this weekend to try some different parenting approaches and refocus our family. To be honest, it was a 50/50 weekend! I really worked hard with Lil Mister and the toilet. He did ah-mazing until last night. Of course, he had to bring my spirits down by giving me something to clean!

Otherwise....

LJ decided he was cold and spent some time in the warmer! Don't worry it wasn't on!

For My Bladders Sanity and Because He Just Keeps Pooing

Peeps, I’m going to get real today. And I don’t think it’s going to be very pretty. But lets face it....sometimes a girl just needs to get it out there! Ya know, because airing our dirty laundry for the world to see is the cool thing these days!

Often as bloggers we only put the good out there. For some it is a matter of pride! They just can't stand the idea of anyone thinking less of them than what they truly aspire to be seen as. 

For others, it's about family values. I fall into this category. My family is truly one that believes what happens in your house stays there. They don't even discuss things with other family members. I respect this a lot but sometimes a girl just needs to let go!

And for some, they want to use their blogs to inspire and uplift! Which I totally support but sometimes the most inspiring thing you can write is about how it isn't all sunshine and puppy kisses and how your a$$ hurts a little and what the world you're going to do about it!

Purpose of Marriage

I brought to your attention over the weekend that I’m going to be focusing on February as a Love Month! Okay, I get that this seems cliché, but I want to go deeper!

I want to get into true love....not the lust that society has convinced us is love. I want to talk about the details of marriage, the purpose of marriage, the pitfalls, the ups, even....the bedroom! ;-)

What is great about this is I think all of us can join in this month! If you’re single, that is totally okay...hopefully, you get some new insight and become comfortable and secure in your status right now! You can learn what marriage means and get an idea of how to start a relationship off right....for success!

February Love Month Introduction

Valentines Day walks a fine line in my heart and in my mind. There is a cynical side of me that says why must we have a specific day where we celebrate love? Is it not condescending to a relationship to do something on a specific day because we feel we have to?

Then again when these questions start popping up, I start to wonder then is it not hypocritical to celebrate anniversaries? It’s kind of the same concept! Doing things that “show” love simply because it is a day to remember....that sounds familiar. I also then start to say well, if I can’t show love on a specific day because it is condescending....is it not the same to celebrate Easter? Should I not be living out every day celebrating Christ’s resurrection just as I should be living out every day showing my love?

If you're reading this then....I'm officially on DAY 3 of our holiday! Right now...I'm probably lounging by the ocean, listening to the laughter of my children, and baking my skin nice and crisp! Please, peeps, yall know I don't tan! ;-)

TT: Goals...how we're tackling them!

Goals....GOals....GOALS

It can actually be a pretty scary word! Goals can either make you or break you. I’ve talked before about all my plans and goals! I’m a stickler for them...I absolutely LOVE them! And we can't disclude my desire for contol, which I've NEVER spoken about here or here!

I tend to make way more than I can keep up with at one time. But that’s okay! I keep them on like a revolving loan type basis. I continuously add goals to my list. Restructuring based on what is the most important to me at the moment.
