#30dayMommyChallenge and More!

Organized ChaosI proposed to you as part of my #Commitment2014 focus a #30daychallenge! I am so excited to be bringing you another challenge!

In February, we worked our way through 30 days of planks and eventually achieved a 5 minute plank! I loved the way my abs had felt and have continued to make planks an everyday activity! They are so easy to do...well, anywhere at anytime!

In May we did a 30 day focus on abs again! After that we took a turn and did a 30 day marriage challenge for the month of July!

#30daymarriagechallenge

Marriage can be a sticky situation some days. Humans are not concrete people. We are fluid. We move with the waters of life. Our marriages are no different. There are highs and lows and each day brings about a new familiarity.

I love this quote “You are not human beings having a spiritual experience; we are spiritual beings having a human experience.”

In essence, we are ruled by emotions (even the men shaking their heads…yes you too!). We often react before asking questions, we judge before knowing facts and we assume way too much. I can honestly say all of these happen within my marriage.

During February, March and April, I was working through my #90daysthroughBible challenge. I took a bit of a dip in May as the chaos of moving and packing and job searching took over every working cell in my brain, but I'm ready to get focused again!

Tuesday Tunes: Set Me Free

chengand3kids.blogspot.com
I spoke yesterday about my fears of the upcoming possibilities. There is a lot going through my mind and I am learning that it is uncertainty that I truly struggle to deal with. It makes me feel out of control....when the reality is, I shouldn't be struggling for control in the first place!

I know I should be letting go of this situation. I should be trusting in God. I know that whether we go or we stay...it will be His plan and His word that leads us.

Letting Go of the Fear

Recently, I spoke about a promotion Hubby might be able to get. He currently works in the spares industry; meaning he sells car parts!

Truthfully, I am so super proud of him! He has worked extremely hard this last year to prove himself within the company, to build up his clientele, and truly get to know the business. And I know it hasn’t been easy at times!

Late last year, we started noticing a shift in how things were happening. Simply, from what he was telling me the manager and area manager said and the extra duties he was doing...I could see that they were impressed with him. Then he got asked early this year to go assist another store in a stock take. For these stores, stock take is a weekend long job and takes multiple people.

It was a huge boost for Hubby. It meant a lot to be requested for something like this. So when the position for a manager at this other branch came available, I started praying about it.

Sunday Social and a Weekend Update

Hey, peeps! How was your weekend?? Mine was....eventful! ;-)

Friday, if you'd checked on Instagram, I cut work a little early and headed to the school for a poppetee. You can read about last years'. But it is basically, an afternoon tea held every year for the mommies at the creche. We had a couple of hours of laughs, chit chat and lekker food! It was a great way to start the weekend!

90 Days Through The Bible

Yesterday, I posted about my Word for 2014 and how commitment defines what I want to achieve this year. One specific point I want to focus on that I also spoke about when we discussed the New Year in Sunday Social, is spiritual growth!

It is so important to me to see our family becoming a centered unit in Christ.

2014 Word for the Year

I’ve seen a lot lately in the blogosphere about our words for 2014. You know me, a usual skeptic to bandwagons....I first did a little research (aka I googled the heck out of that shiz!). And what I found...I liked!

The idea is that instead of setting a ridiculous amount of goals or unrealistic resolutions, you choose a word or two to focus on for the year! It’s kind of a way to put your energy into something and create your own results.
I’m not a fan of resolutions. I don’t make them and honestly, don’t hold too much into what people say about them. Now....I’m all about taking some time to look into the past year and think about what you want to do differently. I’m all for creating a ‘clean slate’ to begin the New Year with and setting up a plan of action for where you want the year to take you!

With that in mind, peeps, I jumped on that bandwagon like it was racing the MotoGP. Being that this is my first year with the #word2014, I decided to focus on only one word. One word to sum up where I wanted my energy and motivation to be headed. One word to lump all my goals together.
