Marriage can be a sticky situation some days. Humans are not concrete people. We are fluid. We move with the waters of life. Our marriages are no different. There are highs and lows and each day brings about a new familiarity.  

I love this quote “You are not human beings having a spiritual experience; we are spiritual beings having a human experience.”

In essence, we are ruled by emotions (even the men shaking their heads…yes you too!). We often react before asking questions, we judge before knowing facts and we assume way too much. I can honestly say all of these happen within my marriage.

Happy Anniversary!

Today....today Hubby and I have technically been married for 5 years! I say technically because if you’ll remember in last year’s post, I revealed our big secret about having been married a little under a month before our wedding! 5 years do not come without their ups and downs. A perfect marriage does not exist in the sense that everything is unicorns and rainbows 100% of the time. In a real marriage, you disagree at points, you fail each other and yourself at points, and you are soared above cloud 9 at points. What makes an okay marriage become great is how you handle each of these situations.

 

I’m not here to make you think we’ve got it perfect, but to tell you there is a handbook that does have it all printed out!

Lil Mister in hospital at 8 months

Did I ever mention that Lil Mister was hospitalized at 8 months for respiratory illness? I probably have and should actually do a post on that some day! But, yes, he was hospitalized at 8 months for RSV after a 6 month battle (and 8 different antibiotic treatments) with illness in his first year of life. It was one of the scariest things I ever experienced and vowed I would never let my children go through that again. Nonetheless, sometimes Mother Nature and our bodies have other plans!

I battle...no my children battle constantly with respiratory problems. Neither is asthmatic and from what we know, they have no serious allergies. However, it seems that every year as the season changes, sickness sets in and we just can’t get healthy!

Both boys are up to date on their vaccinations and both take a vitamin daily. We do our best to eat healthy (as in I RARELY ever get takeaways) and follow all the rules about not going out after bath, dressing warm, etc.

Looking Positive and Focusing on Mommy

Lindsay posted the other day about a focus on mom-me. It reminded me how lately Lil Mister likes to tell me that I am both Mommy and Mama. LJ is going through a stage where everyone (and I mean everyone excluding the dogs is Papa...) and Lil Mister avidly reminds him that I am Mommy. I wonder if this has anything to do with Hubby working away at the moment, but then I realize that this Papa thing started before Hubby left. So, maybe it is just an attachment stage. LJ sure seems to remember to call Mommy in the middle of the night though *sigh*

I decided to piggyback on Lindsay’s post (whom she piggy backed from Jess’s post) since that is where we bloggers get our inspiration! Although I am doing my best to be what the boys need right now and what Hubby needs, I feel there has been some negativity underlining some of my posts lately. That is NOT who I want to be. So I am taking the time to look at things from a positive light! Thanks Lindsay!

For My Bladders Sanity and Because He Just Keeps Pooing

Peeps, I’m going to get real today. And I don’t think it’s going to be very pretty. But lets face it....sometimes a girl just needs to get it out there! Ya know, because airing our dirty laundry for the world to see is the cool thing these days!

Often as bloggers we only put the good out there. For some it is a matter of pride! They just can't stand the idea of anyone thinking less of them than what they truly aspire to be seen as. 

For others, it's about family values. I fall into this category. My family is truly one that believes what happens in your house stays there. They don't even discuss things with other family members. I respect this a lot but sometimes a girl just needs to let go!

And for some, they want to use their blogs to inspire and uplift! Which I totally support but sometimes the most inspiring thing you can write is about how it isn't all sunshine and puppy kisses and how your a$$ hurts a little and what the world you're going to do about it!

A Day In The Life Of

Morning peeps! How are y’all doing? I’m okay. I’m feeling better and refreshed after having been sick last week!

I’ve been seeing a few posts lately about how people spend their days. Now I know y’all have been dying for me to post something along those lines....but seriously, y’all are just nosey! Just kidding just kidding! Everyone else’s days always seem so relaxed compared to mine....I swear I’m like crazy or something!

What You Missed Week 2

Hi peeps! How’s 2014 going so far? Mine....lazy! No seriously though, this coming Wednesday everything goes back to normal! Lil Mister begins school again....so although I’ve had a million things that needed done this past week, I’ve just enjoyed the peace of an empty house. Of course the kids and Hubby are there....but it’s nice just being able to melt back into routine.

Speaking of routine....we are working hard to get that started again! I won’t lie...my laziness isn’t helping (neither is LJ’s teething!) but we’ll get there. Next week....it’s all strict again. Clean kitchen at night, lunches made and bags packed before bed! Lil Mister will begin school now and LJ starts his first day of school ever asof the 3^rd of February!

Today you have turned three! It's hard for me to grasp that so much time has already passed and yet you still have such a long future ahead of you! 

You were so adorable this morning when everyone was telling you Happy Birthday! Since your party was on Saturday, you can't quite grasp why you're being told Happy Birthday again....but today is the big day!

2014 Blogger Challenge: Inspiration

 

I’m a day late this time to the party and I’m so sorry! The holidays have been hectic with family coming and going over the last month. Add to that a vacation, a baby shower, two birthdays and New Years Eve...well, let’s just say as much fun as it was...I’m glad the last two months is over!

Life is beginning to go back to normal and so will the flow of this blog...I promise (I hope)!

Gaby over at Another Girl Blog proposed a 2014 BloggerChallenge. Normally, I avoid these types of things. I tried it once and I just got exhausted always trying to follow up with the memes. But this one seemeddifferent. It was a chance to stretch my content, expand my community and still stay real to who I am.

Happy New Year and some random stuff....

Happy 2014 all my peeps! I hope you all had an amazing New Years. Ours was fantastic, but I will recap on that later. At the moment, I can't upload any photos from my camera because it has decided to stop working! :-/ I can't figure out what is wrong either. It was working fine...I was viewing the photos from Tuesday night and when I shut my camera off it just didn't pull the lens in. Now, the lens is stuck out and won't retract! I'm really hoping this is a simple problem that can be fixed!!

We totally surprised the boys with a swing set for Christmas! Hubby and Pa and V set it up Christmas Eve after the boys were asleep.....and it is definitely the hit we expected it to bed! 

What You Missed W51

Here we are peeps! Only a week and a half left in December and in 2013! I really can’t believe so much time has passed! This past week has been a whirl wind of emotions for me.

I was so grateful to have Ma visiting us for a few extra days after LJ’s party! It was nice to have her in the house...however! My idea was that Ma was supposed to be resting! Ma had a knee surgery the week before and was not supposed to be up and walking so much! Do you think this happened?!? NO! She was soaking up every second with the boys. Which I can totally understand, but....defeated the purpose of rest! Also, it totally makes me feel guilty when I see her doing stuff in my house! Partly because I don’t want her to feel she has to and partly because I’m thankful because in reality....I’m exhausted and lazy after work! :-/ So there is the honesty! I absolutely love having Ma here....but she needs to learn to kick back a little!

It's quite simple actually....I'm thankful for all the beautiful memories that have been afforded to me in this lifetime! I am blessed just for having had the life that I've lived! I pray that I may always live it to it's fullest and glorify God with it! I only get this once!
