Tuesday Tunes: You Raise Me Up

Sometimes in life (most of the time) we don't have all the answers, but through faith I've allowed my heart to become the child I'm supposed to be. I want to always remember that He is my ultimate Father. Today, this week, this month I allow him to "raise me up" when all I want to do is fall!

Tuesday Tunes: Let it Rain

There are a few things happening in our lives right now and it is taking a lot of faith from me to listen and follow the Spirit. I know though the benefits of the rain to wash away and re nourish dried soil. So I'm following Christ and allowing this to be my song of faith.

Suicide and God's Grace

I want to speak about something very sensitive today. Something that is weighing on my heart and the heart of someone I love very dearly. However, this is not my story to tell, so forgive me for being vague.

A very close and dear friend of mine was affected by a suicide in the family earlier in this year. My heart breaks as I write this because this friend is someone I consider family and the pain I see being suffered is almost unbearable.

I was asked to go to this friends house when they received the news and obviously I felt I couldn’t get there quick enough. Although, when I arrived I suddenly realized I had no idea what to say.

Labeled by Humanity, Loved by God

Labeled by Humanity, Loved by God   Written by Tammy Stafford

labeled-by-humanity-loved-by-god, book-review, following-christWhen Tammy first sent me her book, I had no idea what I was in for. I think many of us look at our past and somewhere along the line think ‘Oh, I had it hard then.’ We walk through our days carrying some hidden burden that we assume defines a part of who we are. I know I’m like this!

I grew up in middle class America. We were never rich and never poor and I never really saw what “hard” was. However, like most teenagers, I rebelled thinking that my parents were to blame for everything “wrong” in my life. My clothes weren’t stylish enough, my makeup not expensive enough and my shoes….not fashionable enough.

Is Change Negative

Change is not negative

acumen.org
Have you ever looked back to your high school year books? Statistics show that one of the most commonly written phrases in a year book is “don’t ever change.” I want you to take a moment to consider that phrase. Consider the implications of what it would mean if we never changed from our high school selves. Consider even further if we continued to be the exact same person throughout our lives.

I’m not sure about you, but personally I’m thankful I didn’t take this piece of written nostalgia to heart over the years. In fact, I’m quite sure the world is better for this having been thrown to the wind. Even more so, I’m positive God does if truth be told encourage change.

Sunday Inspiration: Splitting Hairs for Jesus

Have you ever felt so strongly about something in your faith only to have someone else point out it may not be that important?
Have you watched a church crumble over meaningless politics while the "sheep" are led astray?
Do you ever wonder why people are adding to the Bible when actually it's perfect just as it is?

Have you been guilty of any of this?

Happy Anniversary!

Today....today Hubby and I have technically been married for 5 years! I say technically because if you’ll remember in last year’s post, I revealed our big secret about having been married a little under a month before our wedding! 5 years do not come without their ups and downs. A perfect marriage does not exist in the sense that everything is unicorns and rainbows 100% of the time. In a real marriage, you disagree at points, you fail each other and yourself at points, and you are soared above cloud 9 at points. What makes an okay marriage become great is how you handle each of these situations.

I’m not here to make you think we’ve got it perfect, but to tell you there is a handbook that does have it all printed out!

Tuesday Tunes: God is Able

When you listen to these lyrics and consider what I feel God is calling from my life at the moment...you can really come to peace with knowing all things are possible! For we do nothing alone....but all things are done through Christ who strengthens us!

Take a moment today to praise God for just how powerful He is! If you want, stop by our prayer page and leave us a message about how we can begin praying for you today!

Simplicity: Called to Live Simply

It’s all across the world...especially the blogging world, yesterday was Mother’s Day. And Hubby gave me the best gift....being home with our family!

Of everything that has been happening these past two months, yesterday was perfect. In fact, the entire weekend was perfect. I put my phone aside this weekend to just focus on spending time with our family. (This isn’t just a rambling post about our boring, yet satisfying weekend...there is a point so keep reading!)

Depths of Motherhood

Today went by in a blur and I breathe a heavy sigh of relief as I lay my weary body in bed. I close my eyes ready to succumb to the much needed sleep ahead of me.

Just then I hear my oldest cry out through the silence of the dark. It’s a nightmare cry. I pinch my eyes as I attempt to push back the contempt rising up within. Couldn’t we just get a couple of hours of sleep? Another cry comes out....this time from the baby as he has now also been woken. I quickly grab him up and head to my eldest’s room silently praying that this is over quickly....

Then the guilt comes. They need me. They need guidance and love as they learn the harshness of this world that I’m already all too aware of. Their pleas are signs of their desire to have me comfort them.

Tuesday Tunes: I Can Only Imagine

Last week a friend of mine lost someone very close to them....
This song has been in my heart ever since. Take some time today to meditate on how it will be when you see Jesus Face to Face.

Maybe you are unsure about whether you will see Christ one day. Perhaps you haven't gotten to know him personally! I would love to talk with you about what an amazing gift a personal relationship with Christ is! I would love to have the opportunity to let you know how life changing it is! I would love to pray with you! Contact me (everything is confidential between us!).

Wordless Wednesday: Remembering

It's not very wordless....again :-/
The night I met Hubby!
It is amazing looking back on these photos and how life changes and evolves. I can really say that night almost 6 years ago (in August this year), I never imagined I would meet the man I was going to marry. And looking back towards that first weekend in South Africa, I would never have guessed how far our lives would carry us. Everything seemed so HUGE

Tuesday Tunes: Dive

I am absolutely loving this song because it feels like my life exactly right now! Hubby leaves tomorrow morning for our new town. It is with a mix of emotions and a heavy heart that I watch him go! I am trying so hard to be strong but in the mix of packing, looking for work and sick children...I feel like I'm sinking. But God said to dive......

Coffee Talk & the 2014 Ultimate Blog Party

digglifeministries.wordpress.com
There won't be a Fitness Friday today, peeps. I am just not up to it! I'm so sorry but this whole situation in our lives is straining down on me right now. I know you are probably sick of hearing me talk about it so I'm letting it go today. I am focusing on the positive and looking forward to spending an amazing weekend with my Hubby and boys! We deserve a little one on one time and family focus!

With that said...if anyone has any tips on moving a family...please start sending them my way!! Seriously, I feel like a child who has been playing house this whole time! I'm lost in the big world! ;-) Okay....I'm done now! Tips???
