HOW A HOSPITAL CHANGED OUR HEARTS

Lil Mister in hospital at 8 months

Did I ever mention that Lil Mister was hospitalized at 8 months for respiratory illness? I probably have and should actually do a post on that some day! But, yes, he was hospitalized at 8 months for RSV after a 6 month battle (and 8 different antibiotic treatments) with illness in his first year of life. It was one of the scariest things I ever experienced and vowed I would never let my children go through that again. Nonetheless, sometimes Mother Nature and our bodies have other plans!

I battle...no my children battle constantly with respiratory problems. Neither is asthmatic and from what we know, they have no serious allergies. However, it seems that every year as the season changes, sickness sets in and we just can’t get healthy!

Both boys are up to date on their vaccinations and both take a vitamin daily. We do our best to eat healthy (as in I RARELY ever get takeaways) and follow all the rules about not going out after bath, dressing warm, etc.

The winter is starting to settle in here and the boys are enjoying the cooler mornings with lots of laughter and jokes and faces! They remind me how blessed I am!

Buckle Up and Break Into Routine

I’m in a funk peeps. Not with writing....that seems to be going okay (knock on wood).

I’m in a funk with work. I love my job. I love the creative outlet I get and to socialize a little where children aren’t attached to whichever limb they can access first.

I enjoy the self gratification of having employment and let’s face it, my family literally needs the income to get by.

But....I’m missing my boys. Tremendously. Each morning my heart literally wants to scream out that I must stay at home.

School is back on!

Wednesday school began again here in South Africa! I think it was a joyous morning for hundreds....a crazy, hectic, flabbergasted morning for thousands!

I personally spent the night before scrutinizing my children’s clothing for damages created by two months out of school....playing in mud and dirt and whatever else stroked their fancy while at home and marking each and every item with names!

When Your Toddler Says He's the Boss

You know, peeps, sometimes I have a hard time being honest on here. No...I don’t lie! I just don’t tell you everything. I guess that is kind of normal. I know very few bloggers who genuinely share everything!

We all take sanction rights and pick and choose what areas we will reveal and what areas remain private for us! For some, they are very honest with every detail of their lives but keep names and faces private....others share every picture they have of their child but refuses to admit to having a 2 hour battle every night at bedtime!

I guess the point I’m getting to is that I need to be honest about something!

A Bug Birthday: Lil Mister turns 3!

 Lil Mister turned 3 last week! We held his birthday part the Saturday before his actual birthday. I've realized that with the boys' birthdays falling during the summer here when everyone is on holiday...I'm going to have to start sending out invites much earlier and planning ahead because no one is home and available for parties! :-( This mommy had a very sore heart when only one friend was available for Lil Misters' party but it was still a success and Lil Mister was beyond happy with how the day turned out!

In light of Lil Mister's birthday....I decided to do a throwback to the first couple of months of his life in 2011!! We've come so far!!

Today you have turned three! It's hard for me to grasp that so much time has already passed and yet you still have such a long future ahead of you! 

You were so adorable this morning when everyone was telling you Happy Birthday! Since your party was on Saturday, you can't quite grasp why you're being told Happy Birthday again....but today is the big day!

I’m a day late this time to the party and I’m so sorry! The holidays have been hectic with family coming and going over the last month. Add to that a vacation, a baby shower, two birthdays and New Years Eve...well, let’s just say as much fun as it was...I’m glad the last two months is over!

Life is beginning to go back to normal and so will the flow of this blog...I promise (I hope)!

Gaby over at Another Girl Blog proposed a 2014 BloggerChallenge. Normally, I avoid these types of things. I tried it once and I just got exhausted always trying to follow up with the memes. But this one seemeddifferent. It was a chance to stretch my content, expand my community and still stay real to who I am.

LJ Birthday extravaganza!!

As I posted last Thursday in the Once Upon a Time Birthday part 1....LJ's party was a huge success!! Once everything was decorated, it was time for the fun! I warn you...this is a photo bomb! But, jeeze peeps, they're so darn cute!

What you Missed: Birthday Week!

It's been a quiet week here at Organized Chaos! But that's okay! We all need those weeks ya know! 

It's LJ's birthday week, so I've been neck deep in party planning and have a whole night and morning ahead with more work that I think is possible to complete! ;-)

Saturday Funny: Lil Mister is Witty

This child is always amazing me and cracks me up on a daily basis. But the best this past week was Monday morning:

I was holding Lil Mister and put him down because frack....he's heavy! He starts moaning that he wants picked back up. I try to show him the marks his pants had left on my arm and say that Mommy has a boo boo from Lil Mister being so heavy.
He grabs my wrist and examines my arm very closely, squinting his eyes to get the best look. He then lets go quickly and says in a very matter of fact tone that Mommy does not have boo boo...Mommy has polka dots!
He missed the marks all together and saw my freckles. He then excitedly exclaims that Papa also has polka dots!

Yes, my son....polka dots!

So thoughtful....
