Tall, Dark and Handsome

I often wonder about the ‘standards’
modern media is setting up for us. Especially movies and books.
Now I’m a book girl. I like my TV and have a few shows I follow almost religiously, but nothing beats curling up on the couch with a good book in my hand (or on the computer for that matter ;-]). The way the authors talented words tantalize the tip of my tongue keeps me grasping for more. I love watching the scene fold out in front of my eyes as my imagination is put to work envisioning 3D from the flat papers I hold.
I’m enticed at the way the author draws us in to the characters causing my emotions to ride right along with the events these now new ‘people’ are experiencing. The anticipation to find out ‘what next’ almost overwhelms me.

Shana Danae..

Here's to four years....

You might have read previously about how Hubby and I were actually married about 20 days before our wedding.

Today, however, we celebrate our anniversary. The anniversary we publically recognize that is!

We planned our entire wedding in less than 2 months! I will do a short series on this soon.

Plaasmoorde

Yesterday we had to drive a few hours to submit the application to renew my visa.

This is a post in and of itself....for another day.
Instead, I wanted to post today about something that literally caught me off guard and shocked me.
This photo....

Pannekoek recipe

rsg.co.za

If you haven’t noticed already, we like to do things…well, our own way around here!! For instance, we don’t have a barbeque. We braai! And yes it is more than just how we build our fire that is different! The atmosphere, the side dishes, and the social event that surrounds it is very important to us! Much similar to how a game of football is almost tradition on Thanksgiving for a lot of families in America!

Where I'm meant to be...

I absolutely love this quote.
Simply put…I feel it is a motto for when my life gets difficult here.
Sometimes I’d love to say that moving to South Africa has been the easiest thing in my life because I know it is where I’m supposed to be. But that isn’t always the case. The ideal that I am exactly where God wanted me….it sometimes isn’t the comfort I’m looking for.

Mommy Guilt

One of my biggest fears when I found out I was pregnant with LJ was how it would affect Lil Mister.
As my pregnancy came to a close and we got closer to the day in which we would welcome LJ into our family, my fears grew stronger.
How would Lil Mister react? Would he accept LJ? Will LJ like him? Will one of them feel left out? How will I divide my time? Will my love change? How will I have enough love?

Maybe I shouldn’t broach the subject….
