Blogger Opportunity and a Weekend Recap!

Hello, peeps! The weekends go so fast and it becomes Monday all over again! I hope all of you had a blessed time. It seems like there is never enough hours in the day but we all keep moving forward. Life lately has been no different!

I mentioned that Lil Mister was spending the weekend at Ouma, so Saturday started off quiet. LJ and I took some time and went to town in the morning. That child is eating me out of house and home right now! He ate two bowls of cereal, a mini bag of crackers and a jam sandwich before we left! Then at Hubby’s work he had two, TWO wors pieces! That is like two sticks of bratwurst. He was asleep when we got home but sure enough he ate a pack of ramen noodles when he woke up and another bag of crackers! When Hubby got home at 2, he had a Vienna and a bowl of curry carrots! He still ate dinner that night! I don’t know where he is putting it!

AWOL and Coffee

I’ve tried multiple times today to write a post worth anything but nothing is coming to mind. I don’t know why; however I am having a rambling sort of day. So, I thought since I’ve been a little AWOL lately, we could catch up over a cuppa!

I saw this post on LiveLaughLove and know it’s quite popular around the blogosphere.

#30daymarriagechallenge

Marriage can be a sticky situation some days. Humans are not concrete people. We are fluid. We move with the waters of life. Our marriages are no different. There are highs and lows and each day brings about a new familiarity.

I love this quote “You are not human beings having a spiritual experience; we are spiritual beings having a human experience.”

In essence, we are ruled by emotions (even the men shaking their heads…yes you too!). We often react before asking questions, we judge before knowing facts and we assume way too much. I can honestly say all of these happen within my marriage.

8 Inspirations for a Safari Themed Toddler Room

So....we finally got a house after what felt like forever of searching! As usual, I leave it to Hubby (since he was already there) to make the decision. And truthfully, I think he did amazing!

It’s a grassroof just outside of town. There is huge open land for us to relax with and only one neighbor (whom also has children!). The kitchen is big and open and a decent sized lounge and best of all....below our maximum budget price!

Along with this move comes the opportunity for us to finally begin arranging our house to our liking. We’ve put off any real decorating with the kids being so young, but now I think...I know I can finally start this project!

Old Fashioned Chicken Pox Remedy

Have you ever sat with a child with chicken pox? I have! Poor Lil Mister got chicken pox when he was just about 16 months old and I was pregnant with LJ.
Luckily I’d already had chicken pox as a child and was not worried about catching. However, I didn’t want to see my child suffer, nor could I really miss much work at the time. I know that sounds terrible but that is a reality for a working mom. Believe me though, my child came before everything.

Being the person I am, I immediately jumped on Google and started searching remedies for my baby. I wanted this over quickly for him and with as little discomfort as possible. I found tens of different ideas and actually came up with something that worked miracles in my eyes.

Who Am I

To ask a person who they are is a question that implies more than simply a name. A single title will neither create a full sum of what defines a person nor accurately describe what they think of themselves. To define myself as to whom I am, verses what I am, and is a vast valley of worth. In essence, I am being asked to equate self-value into what makes me the person I am. How very personal of a question that is. How little we know of ourselves may very well surprise most of us.

I am first a mother. It has taken more than giving birth to make me a mother. It is a choice I make upon awakening. It is the decision that I will live out my life in such a way as to give my children a mother they can be proud of. It is the realization that my life is no longer my own and that my consequences lay in the hands of those little beings following me. This is the greatest responsibility I have ever owned but take it with great pride.

South of the Boarder Baked Chicken

Sometimes I decide to get creative in the kitchen….I know, WOW right?!?

This was one of those days. We had a lot of fresh ingrediants left in the fridge from the day before and I wanted to use them up. I cook a big meal on Sundays and chicken was in order this particular day! I was craving some Mexican flavour though. I still had some taco seasoning left from our Mexican night and started brainstorming what could I do. Therefore, my peeps, I introduce you to South of the Boarder Chicken.

5 Tips to Planning a Wedding

Hey peeps! I want to take a moment today to say Happy Anniversary to my beloved Hubby! I can’t believe that we are at 5 years already! It is truly amazing! You’ll remember last month I wrote about our technical anniversary. But today is the date we really celebrate. And who could argue with us when you look at the photos!

Everyone who has been married will understand when I say a wedding is stressful. I mean the planning and execution alone is a nightmare sometimes; then you have the relatives fighting about seating and who to invite and not invite. Luckily, Hubby and I have always kind of gone our own way about things and our wedding was no different.

New House Pinspiration: A Step on the Wild Side

As you all know...we are moving the weekend! Yay! I am so excited. One thing Hubby and I have been discussing is how we really need to start getting a sense of style into our home. With the kids being so little, we have invested very little time or money into decorating. Now they are getting older and we feel we can begin!

This new home requires a completely different style than what we have like previously. It is a grass roof house and therefore we want to maintain the sense of natural essence of the home. It blends with the nature around it and we want to incorporate that within.

I’ve been gaining a lot of inspiration from nature itself and from the lodges that are around these parts. We are going to stick with neutral colors in the lounge/ dining area with a pop of color here and there. Have a peek at my inspiration....
