Let’s face it…life isn’t getting any cheaper! And for those of you studying, whether full time or part time, the cost of books can be weighing you down. After you calculate all of your other expenses, those precious study materials you need to be successful could possibly be “breaking the bank.” You spend hundreds of dollars a year on books. A great program can help you save money!!!

God Loves Eliana

OperationSmile is a beautiful organization working to heal 1000's of children around the world from cleft lip!

Have you heard of cleft lip before? What about cleft palate?

I’d heard about them and to be honest, living in a third world country, I’ve seen a few in person. Of course, I realize that this isn’t something that only affects third world countries; it is obviously a terrible condition that affects thousands across the world regardless of economic standing. It is, however, unfortunate that in countries such as South Africa and across the world, so many living with this condition do not have the capabilities to receive proper medical treatment.

Operation smile describes themselves in this way:
Operation Smile is an international children's medical charity that heals children's smiles, forever changing their lives.

Oh, how amazing! It’s absolutely beautiful! I love the way they phrase it as “heals children’s smiles.” Imagine being a dad and seeing your daughter truly smile for the first time after years of failing to do it. Or a mother hearing her son sing for the first time after longing for it for so long!

You can find out so much about this organization at their website. But let me share with you a couple of facts about what they do! They state that a child is born with cleft every 3 minutes and one in ten of these children don’t live to see their first birthday.

They believe that every child deserves the opportunity to a happy fulfilled life. And that is what they’re working to do! They train doctors in remote areas and work to build up the health care in the over 60 countries they currently endeavor in.

Not a college student or grad with books to sell? That’s okay you can still get involved with Operation Smile at their website! Go check it out!

Please spread the word about and the work they’re doing! We all know a college student somewhere than can definitely benefit from a little more dough in their sack!
