Hi
peeps! Another week done and dust, no?
It’s
been...quiet! Not on the blog, but in life in general. Slowly, over the last
few weeks, we’ve been transitioning back into routine mode. Bedtimes have
become more structured, Mama has been getting things done in the evenings, and
our social life has been put slightly to the backburner!
Not
that I’m complaining. This was, is necessary. This was nice! Saturday, Hubby
had gone fishing the morning and afternoon and when he got home, we quickly
went to the shop and took LJ to the doctor. While out a close friend asked if
we wanted to braai. My gut reaction was NO. We’d been very specific about not
wanting to do anything for a few weeks, but this friend is a rustig (calm)
friend. Don’t get me wrong...he can enjoy a party! But he knows the deal with
kids too.
I
agreed since Hubby and I were going to braai on our own anyways. I knew CC
wouldn’t mind us doing the normal parent things while he was there (bathing,
bedtime, etc.). As he pulled up, I thought Hubby was going to have a heart
attack! C & L had shown up with another friend and a clump of L’s little
brothers friends. I’m talking like....8 of them!
Hubby
immediately runs in the room and says, ‘Before you go out there....I want you
to know I didn’t do this!’ I walk into my lounge to see them all outside. My
heart sinks....I love my friends and C & L are always welcome at my house,
even unannounced! But I won’t lie....I just wasn’t up for all those people! I
felt like hiding myself away!
I
just can’t be like that though. When I asked JJ to move his bukkie because it
was blocking the drive they explained they were just stopping by to pick up a
few chairs at my house and the big braai. I offered to C for them to braai by
me (what the frack is wrong with me), because I know my house is bigger and C
also never worries about me needing to be Mama! She even jumps in and helps!
But C is an amazing friend and knew how I felt...she kindly declined and truth
be told, was honest to say it will be nice to braai at their house for a
change! Lol
I
truly love my friends! No explanations needed....no questions asked....we just
get it!
If you haven't noticed....I've made some changes around the good ol' blog space. Nothing major...a new header, some updated social media buttons and I redid the About Me page. Take a look around and let me know what you think!
