Societies Purest Form of Evil

Evil: Does it Exist?
This is heavy laden question. There are so many viewpoints and misconceptions and standings. I cannot begin to delve into them all.
But quite frankly, YES Evil does exist. It exists in many forms. It comes at us from many angles. And has thousands of disguises.

This is evil at work today…..
Society pressuring adolescents into believing that this is beauty!
As a society, we’ve decided that natural is no longer beautiful. We’ve pushed it to where approximately 10 million people in the UK alone are affected by an eating disorder. And it isn’t just females. Of that total, it is estimated that 10-15% of those affected are male.

Does this mean that every eating disorder is caused my media? Absolutely not.
I looked at myself in the mirror this morning and wondered to myself why is my morning routine so indepth at the age of 23?? I spend time and product in my hair then blow dry it to achieve that just right look. I take the time and effort to apply multiple products to my face in order to achieve the look that is considered appropriate?
Why am I uncomfortable in just being who I am?

We try to say we're exempt from all of this as we get older, but we are not. I probably look in the mirror 20 times before I leave for work. I am not just checking to make sure I look professional, clean, healthy. I want to know do I look the part.
Heaven forbid I leave the house without makeup on or my hair done!

I'm not saying, either, we should throw all beauty products to the wind! I like to look nice. How far is too far? How much is too much, though? But what am I teaching my sons?

Is this beauty?

Is this healthy?

Is it worth it?
Is it worth your life?
Is this the price we want our future adults to pay?
Evil is very much at work in a society that has convinced girls that they need to go to these extremes to be considered beautiful!

According to http://www.state.sc.us, one in every 200 American women have an eating disorder.A study by the National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders reported that 5 – 10% of anorexics die within 10 years after contracting the disease; 18-20% of anorexics will be dead after 20 years and only 30 – 40% ever fully recover!!
It also goes on to state that 90% of the 'women' suffering from this disease (YES ANOREXIA IS A DISEASE!) are actually girls aged 13-25! GIRLS people...not women at all!

The scariest part of all of this is that only 1 in 10 of these girls are likely to receive treatment.

Why do I consider this evil?
It is our job as women in society to set the example and lead as positive role models into healthy lifestyle. We are so focused on appearance, weight, and being perceived as beautiful that we have skewed the lines! Take Bonnie on Big Rich Texas promising her daughter Whitney a boob job for getting good grades!! Is that the example women are setting?
No, this is not all women. Please don't get on your high horses here.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that the evil comes in when we're allowing an entire generation to be more influenced by what celebrities are doing than by the examples we are setting in our own home. We as adults and parents are allowing these same celebrities to convince us we are just not good enough...yet.

We can do a little botox. We can get a nip here and a tuck there. We can poof up a bit here and take a little away there.

Then....then....maybe we'll make the cut.
How far....is too far?
That is the evil. That girls are dying from starvation. Their organs are failing and they can barely pick themselves up from bed to meet the 'standards.'

There is a lot of positive reinforcement out there....but the best reinforcement we can give anyone is for them to see the results of a healthy lifestyle within our own lives!

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I view evil at work when society has decided that fake is better than real. When society has convinced millions that healthy isn't good enough. When we've shoved drugs down their throats and needles in their skin until they're so distorted that they starve themselves literally to death. Evil is when we're protesting openly against the government for passing health bills we don't agree with but we rapidly spread and tune into the latest celebrity gossip from plastic surgery, to anorexia rumors, to drug rehabilitation.

Check some analytics....what has more hits....
healthy living methods or angelina jolie eating disorder?
