This Weeks Questions:

1. What is your dream job? 

I'm torn when answering this. I would have to say, if time wasn't an issue and I could plan things around my OWN schedule and therefore make it work for my children and husband...I'd love to have my own restaurant. I loved the 10 years I spent in food service and if it wasn't the schedules...I'd go back to it. I miss the restaurant and always dreamed of my own one day!

Why our groceries are hurting us....

I spoke Friday in the What You Missed post about how God is working in our lives with our finances. To be honest, this is something we have been praying a lot about. We don’t earn huge salaries and we have two boys to bring up.

It isn’t about having more each month though. Actually, that is the exact opposite of what we have been praying! We have been praying for guidance on how to eliminate our debt and live without it. We have been praying for a car. We have been praying on how to live on what we have!!

Rather than asking God to give us more money, we are asking for wisdom in how to better manage our money! It seems simple enough, but this is life changes we are making. It is about changing our mindsets. It is about changing our style of living. It is about TRUSTING GOD to provide for us!

This photo has nothing to do with this. But I hate a photoless post! They passed out before we even finished the 10 minute walk into town Saturday morning! Obviously, all my financial planning wore them out too!

Some Financial Release and What You Missed 27.9

It’s been a rough week on the Organized Chaos front! I spoke before about wanting to change our family shopping habits. Let’s just say this didn’t work so well. But financially....things just aren’t getting easier!

I’ve been praying a lot about what we are supposed to do and for guidance in how we handle situations. A few weeks back though, God spoke to me insurmountably through scripture assuring me that I’m not only supposed to be trusting in Him to handle ALL things but that it is time for Hubby Dearest and I to take a few steps back and reassess the manner in which we are living.

Hebrews 13:5 

Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Matthew 6:33 

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you

Theme Thursday: TV... Were you a 90's Kid?

Okay....so this week we’re talking TV! Oh, yea baby!

For the last two weeks, Hubby Dearest and I have had our TV turned off! In an effort to meet our goal of only watching one TV show per night in order to increase our family time, we decided ‘scratch it, we’re going cold turkey!’ {Oh yes peeps, we ARE that brave!}

Yet, yesterday marked the 25^th of the month and our two weeks were over. I actually told Hubby that I was a little bit sad to turn the cable back on....just a little bit! ;-)

We did okay last night! The TV was on but muted for the most part. Lil Mister watched no cartoons and we prepared dinner and bathed the boys just like we had the last two weeks....with no distraction!

Kids 'n Worship Part 4: Denying Hypocrisy

We attended the Kingdom Builders church again yesterday. I mentioned it in Part 1....it was at this church that this series began in my heart.

Worst Mommy of the Year goes to.....

I worked so hard to have the day planned perfectly!

I took off work the ENTIRE day! I was supposed to have it all down....I was supposed to be in control! And I'm never going to forgive myself!

This child is more than I ever deserved....and God gave me two!

Thursday evening was Lil Mister's school concert. Now, at his age he has a maximum of 5 minutes on stage and once they're off....they're done!

This is beyond true! I went to a CPR class a couple of weeks back in which they say anything over 5 minutes of your child not getting oxygen puts them into risk of brain damage. I responded by saying anything over 2 minutes of silence from my children puts my house in risk of toddler damage! ;-) There is no way my child could be quiet for 5 minutes and I hadn't already searched for what they were into!

What You Missed Week 38!

I wanted to end this week on such a high note....but inside I’m just crushed! I hope you stick around until Monday to hear about how I have officially donned the “worst mom of the year” award in Lil Misters school! It’s a wild one let me assure you! ;-)

Oh, and I'm so excited to share with all of you next week about how I finally found my green thumb! Now, if we can just keep it around long enough to actually make things grow! ;-)

Why I wasn't at church!!

Have you guys been following along with the Kids ‘n Worship series? I sure hope so but if not you can catch up on Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3 by clickity clicking on those links! But before you zoom off to other parts of my bloggy land, stick around and hear about why I stopped going to church!

I absolutely love worship! I believe it is our main purpose! I listen to worship music when I get up in the morning and am getting dressed, we play a stream from itunes all day long at work, and usually Hubby and I will throw in a CD featuring one of our favorites after work!

TT: Goals...how we're tackling them!

Goals....GOals....GOALS

It can actually be a pretty scary word! Goals can either make you or break you. I’ve talked before about all my plans and goals! I’m a stickler for them...I absolutely LOVE them! And we can't disclude my desire for contol, which I've NEVER spoken about here or here!

I tend to make way more than I can keep up with at one time. But that’s okay! I keep them on like a revolving loan type basis. I continuously add goals to my list. Restructuring based on what is the most important to me at the moment.

Yes, peeps, another week has come and gone! And you know what, I'm enjoying life more and more! It amazes me the glory of God each day and all He does to ensure our happiness!

I’d heard about them and to be honest, living in a third world country, I’ve seen a few in person. Of course, I realize that this isn’t something that only affects third world countries, it is obviously a terrible condition that affects thousands across the world regardless of economic standing. It is, however, unfortunate that in countries such as South Africa and across the world, so many living with this condition do not have the capabilities to receive proper medical treatment.

I am NOT a breast-dummy....Please, HELP!

I’ve mentioned before that I breastfed LJ for the first 5 months. I actually would have loved to continue but, alas, my son is on his own mission in life and didn’t exactly feel it was necessary to follow his mom’s 5 step planning action!

When God Has Other Plans {God Revealed}

I know I'm supposed to be posting for my third installment of Kids 'n Worship, but something went awry with my plans! 

You see, God does that sometimes. He takes what you want to do and throws it out the window and says 'I've got something else in mind, something better even!' And we've just got to trust Him enough to go along with it!

Another weekend gone...

Hey peeps! How was your weekend?

This is our new neighbor. She decided our plant just outside our door is a great place to lay her eggs!

 Mine...eish! Well, it was both relaxing and calm and crazy busy! I know it seems like a contradiction but that is honestly how I feel about it!

I’ve been asking Hubby Dearest for a calm, quiet weekend at home for MONTHS now! Literally, it has been more than two months since we had a weekend where we just didn’t have plans constantly! 

 So this weekend, I got my wish....sort of.

Sunday Social...Let's talk Fall

1. What is your favorite fall activity?

I think the thing I miss the most about fall in America is the cookouts! We braai here and have a great time, but there is something about a cookout. Roasting wieners over a fire and making smores...curling up for a hay ride and hiding in the crunchy leaves! I miss the hot ciders and the chill of the setting sun!

And awesome walks around Chicago! I love Chi-town in the fall!

I'm so freaking nervous peeps! For those of you who aren't following me on Twitter or Facebook, I posted today that Hubby Dearest is reading this little corner of the www for the VERY.FIRST.TIME! Now, I really don't have anything to worry about because I'm not on here bashing his name or dragging our family through the mud. I have nothing to be embarrassed about because I am nothing but honest.

However....I guess I just hope he is proud!

One of Those Weeks

It seems as if every time you’re just beginning to get ahead, 20 more things come toppling down on you. If you can just dig yourself out of the hole far enough to get some fresh air, well... then you might actually survive.
