It's quite simple actually....I'm thankful for all the beautiful memories that have been afforded to me in this lifetime! I am blessed just for having had the life that I've lived! I pray that I may always live it to it's fullest and glorify God with it! I only get this once!

Today I am grateful that I've always trusted in God's plan and followed His directions for my life! He knew exactly what I needed and where I needed to go and because of Him I have the most amazing family ever! I praise God today!

 Today I am grateful for our car! God has always taken care of our family so much and this has been the greatest blessing this year! Because of this we are now on our way to see our Ouma and Oupa for the first time in almost four years! Praise God!

30 Days of Gratitude: Rain

Day 14: Nov 14, 2013
Today, I am grateful for the rain! This is an old picture but I love it still. Where we live we go months through the winter with absolutely no rain.
It's dry but good because it doesn't bring our winter temperatures lower.
But now with us moving into summer, we get those lovely night time storms! Our yard becomes flooded with the water and we sit back and listen to it dripple on the roof! It brings life to the dryness and rest to the heat of each day!
I absolutely love the rain!

I talked about the Sunday School picnic in my Weekend Recap: Part 2: Sunday School Picninc. And today, I want to say I’m grateful for such a community involved church!

Our church holds this picnic among many other functions throughout the year that are all about deepening the relationships among the families in the church. I feel so blessed when I get to be a part of these events whether a study group, a camping trip or a picnic. I love the memories we are creating and the friendships we are establishing.

I’ve spoken recently on how I struggled to find a middle ground in transitioning to South Africa. I’ve also posted before on all the things I miss from America.

But....as I’ve said in multiple posts, I absolutely love South Africa. I am so blessed to experience this country and I am grateful for my decision to live here. I am thankful for God’s inspiration over my life and praise Him for bringing my South African Hubby into it.

SO....I'm praying to God. Trying to work through why I'm feeling this way today. Knowing it isn't normal for me lately. And inspiration comes to me.

30 Days of Gratitude: Intro and catch up!

We don't celebrate Thanksgiving in South Africa. It's strictly an American holiday so this makes sense. But as my boys get older, I've started collecting crafts, lessons, and elements to assist me in sharing this holiday with them.

Although we live here, I feel it is still important that they understand where I came from as it is part of their heritage. Hubby and I are doing our best to mix our cultures to an extent without actually taking away from either.

In light of this, I was so excited when Kelsey mentioned creating a linky for the 30 Days of Gratitude! So keep your eyes out for that still to come!
